**NEW RELEASES 2019** COSMOXIE
Based out of Manhattan New York, Cosmoxie gives birth to Star Child, their first single along with 3 other singles available now. They infuse organic feel-good retro based funk rhythms with dynamic guitar and soulful vocals. Their sound is described as funk 70’s with catchy melodies and hooks and punchy beats.
Michael and Derby met 6 months after Michael moved to New York from Australia to be with his now wife. They quickly established a relationship through their love of music, creativity and passion for writing and producing songs.
With vastly different musical upbringings there’s a definite kind of ying and yang vibe to the writing process, which makes for a very interesting album. Derby’s musical background is in Pop, Electronica, Latin, jazz and Afro Cuban styles, whilst Michael’s is in rock, blues and metal space, so the outcome is a fusion of all these elements topped off by Derby’s R&B/soul style vocals.
The two also perform with local reggae group “Mighty Roots Ascension”, international touring artist “Danglin” (formerly from the Wailers) and “The Cake” (an original late 60’s Motown girl group) CHECK OUT COSMOXIE.COM
